Why Using the Truxor for Dredging Can Be Better Than Using Diggers

When it comes to pond and lake dredging, the method you choose can have a massive impact on the health of your waterbody - and your wallet. While traditional diggers have long been used for silt removal, they’re not always the best tool for the job.

At Simply Aquatic, we vastly use the Truxor amphibious machine, and here’s why in some situations it can outperform conventional diggers / methods.

1. No Need to Drain the Pond or Lake

Diggers: Excavators often require the waterbody to be drained to access the silt properly. This is time-consuming, costly, and highly disruptive to aquatic life. When a pond or lake is drained, the exposed soil dries out. If the bed / bottom contains a lot of clay, it will shrink as it loses moisture. This shrinkage can cause the soil to split and crack which can lead to leaks once the waterbody is refilled.

Truxor: Our Truxor operates directly on water - no need to drain anything. It floats, manoeuvres easily, and gets to work without disturbing the entire ecosystem.

2. Minimal Damage to Banks and Surrounding Land

Diggers: Heavy machinery needs solid ground access. That means tearing up grass, compacting soil, and sometimes building temporary roads just to get the equipment in.

Truxor: The Truxor is lightweight, amphibious, and designed for soft ground. It causes minimal ground disturbance and protects the integrity of your banks and margins.

3. Highly Precise Dredging

Diggers: Excavators can be clunky and imprecise, making it difficult to target silt layers without digging too deep or disturbing established plants.

Truxor: With a range of attachments and surgical control, the Truxor can target specific silt levels, operate in tight spaces, and work around aquatic vegetation — giving you a cleaner, more controlled result.

4. Versatile Across Waterbodies of All Sizes

Diggers: Excavators are often too large or awkward for smaller ponds or inaccessible lakes.

Truxor: Whether it’s a compact garden pond or a large estate lake, the Truxor adapts to the job. It’s especially effective in shallow waters and tricky-to-reach areas.

We understand that not all ponds and lakes are the same therefore we tailor each method to suit. In some situations traditional methods can be best but this is after careful reviewing of the surroundings.
