Case Study:
Domestic Client - Tunbridge Wells
The Challenge:
Simply Aquatic were contacted to help restore this historic lake in Tunbridge Wells, the new owners wanted the lake back to it's former glory. The waterbody had not been touched for 10's of years and needed a reset. The task was to remove the Bulrush coupled with the root system and silt. The lake had a low water depth of only 30cm due to the majority of the water column being taken up by root system and silt, this had lead to very poor biodiversity within the area.

Our Solution:
To address this challenge we used our specialised Truxor Amphibious machine, this innovative equipment enabled us to efficiently remove the Bulrush, root system and silt from the lake while keeping surrounding impact to an absolute minimum. The vegetation was piled around the lake to allow any invertebrates to find their way back into the water.

The Results:
The lake now has an average water depth of around 1m, small manageable clumps of Bulrush were left to aid the improvement of habitat and biodiversity. The lake will feature a new planting programme by the owners in the near future.

"Tom was able to provide a cost efficient plan to clear our derelict lake of eighteen years of bullrushes and silt. He then delivered that plan with great communication and versatility. A pleasure to see Tom and his Truxor bring our lake back to life!"
