Case Study:
Domestic Client - Sheffield

The Challenge:

Simply Aquatic were contacted to help with preventative maintenance on this lake in Sheffield. Access proved very tricky with limited space and high sided banks, which made it a perfect job for the Truxor Amphibious Machine.

The task was to reduce the Bulrush that had spread out over the last couple of years, and also undertake some spot dredging in high areas where silt had accumulated.

Our Solution:

The Truxor removed the marginal reeds along with the root system which surrounded half of the pond spreading out 2-3m, the vegetation was piled along one of the banks for the customer to move on at a later date.

Once the reeds had been removed. The Truxor transported the silt from out towards the middle of the pond closer to the edge, where the customer could then reach this with their equipment.

The Results:

This domestic client now has a much more aesthetically pleasing pond, which is visually where it was some years ago with clear open water again, the reduction in reeds and also silt will reduce the risk of areas drying up and losing sections of the pond, which has started to occur in other areas.
