Case Study:
Domestic Client - Leicestershire
The Challenge:
Simply Aquatic were contacted to help with tackling silt problems, issues with aquatic weed and also reeds. We spent the time visiting site in Leicestershire and working through our customers requirements and access for machinery, which did need to come through the neighbouring farmers fields as this was a domestic lake.

Our Solution:
We used a combination of the Truxor and small tracked land based machinery to minimise ground compaction. The silt was removed from the lake which will help to remove nutrients and also add greater water depths. The removed silt was deposited along a section of rough bank.
The perimeter reeds had starting to encroach into the water making it difficult for our client to maintain, we took these back leaving a 1m strip to help with bank protection.
While on site, the client had a slipway that was becoming impassable due to a large amount of silt / mud build up. We scraped this back to the original stone base and material deposited and levelled in a dip within the field.

The Results:
Approximately 250m3 of silt has been removed from the lake along with removing / disturbing the root system of the aquatic weed growing within. The lake now has greater water depth, controlled growth of reeds and a much needed reset.

Client Review:

"Clearing weed, reeds and silt from the lake. Tom and the team were extremely efficient, on time and outstanding communication. We were 100% clear on how the operation would work and when. Very considerate to both our surrounding property and the wildlife. Thanks for a great job. I would definitely recommend."
